Standard Calculator
Add, subtract, multiply and divide with a keypad or your keyboard.
How it works
Type or tap an expression and press = for the answer. It follows the normal order of operations, so 2 + 3 × 4 gives 14, and brackets work as you expect. A percent sign counts as hundredths, so 50% is 0.5.
Worked example
Four friends split an $86.40 dinner and add an 18% tip. Type 86.4*1.18/4 and press =. The answer is 25.488, so each person pays about $25.49. Multiplying by 1.18 adds the tip in one step instead of working out 18% separately.
Tips
- Use brackets to control the order, for example (2+3)*4 gives 20 while 2+3*4 gives 14.
- To take a percentage off a price, multiply by one minus the rate: 80*0.75 takes 25% off $80.
- Use the backspace key to fix a typo without clearing the whole line.
Frequently asked questions
Does it follow the order of operations?
Yes. Brackets come first, then powers, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction.
Can I type with my keyboard?
Yes. Type into the display and press Enter to get the result.
Why does 2 + 3 × 4 give 14, not 20?
Multiplication is done before addition. Add brackets, (2+3)×4, if you want 20.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The keypad is sized for thumbs and the page fits any screen width.
